Shire Innovation Fund for Specialist Nurses in Bowel Care
The Shire Innovation Fund for Specialists Nurses (SpNs) in
Bowel Care (formally the Shire Innovation Fund for IBD Nurses) is part of Shire
Pharmaceuticals' continuing commitment to supporting initiatives that improve
the outcomes for patients with IBD and bowel continence disorders
The aim of the Fund is to support nurses working in IBD and continence advisors
working in bowel care who want to develop their services further for the benefit
of patients with IBD and bowel continence disorders.
The Shire Innovation Fund for SpNs in
Bowel Care can provide grants of up to £1,500 (total Fund £7,500) for nurse-led
projects that further medical care for patients with IBD and bowel continence
If you are a nurse or continence advisor providing care
to patients in the UK with IBD or bowel disorders you can apply to the fund. The
Fund is open to all types of proposals which show development of local IBD or
continence advice services such as providing resources for auditing and research
activities, participation in congress or educational programmes, purchasing of
equipment, patient education materials, short practical and vocational courses
that will give immediate benefit to patients, and much more.
Please note that the Shire Innovation Fund cannot
provide funding for all or part of a course that can lead to a professional
qualification, for example, a degree, degree module, diploma or postgraduate
diploma (whether or not it is the applicant’s intention to sit the relevant exam
or not). Examples of previous successful projects can
be found in the Shire Innovation Fund newsletters, which you can download
by clicking on the links on this page.
